National Geographic Live - Terry Virts: View From Above | Jan 23 | 7:30 pm| Performing Arts Center
Terry Virts, NASA astronaut and photographer, will be presenting at the next National Geographic Live show, called "View From Above." Virts is a two time space veteran and has taken over 300,000 images in space. His speaking topics include risk and crisis management, the importance of strategy and vision, innovation, and intercultural leadership.

Evening with Industry
Cal Poly Society of Women Engineers will host their annual Evening with Industry banquet. The Banquet provides Cal Poly students the opportunity to meet company representatives and Cal Poly alumni in a relaxed setting. Following dinner, the recipients of the "Outstanding Women in Engineering" and "Most Supportive Professor" awards, and company sponsored scholarship winners.
To sign up, come to the SWE office (197-212) and ask an officer to sign you in.
Payment is $20 for SWE members and $30 for non SWE members. Cash, card, and check is accepted.

MS Technology - Director of Technology Solutions
MS Technology is currently searching for a Director of Technology Solutions. This position will lead the market research, design, development, and deployment of critical innovative technologies required to solve customers' most challenging problems. The company's current technology development programs are focused on industrial heating technologies, metal melting and casting, innovative microwave fluidized bed heat treating of aerospace and marine parts, and lifestyle process equipment improvements. These activities require an understanding of chemical engineering, metallurgy, materials science, process and equipment development, ceramics, and basic electronics.

Study Abroad: Engineering and Business in China 2019
Studying in China offers students the chance to embrace a new culture and learn about a country with a history dating back thousands of years, whose economy has been growing dramatically these past two decades. Through this program, students will take IME 430, BUS 497, and IME 1400.
You will get a multidisciplinary international team experience through this study abroad program. International teams will be formed consisting of Cal Poly students and Chinese students from Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT). Teams will take classes and conduct projects together with the intent of applying the knowledge they acquire to solve real-world problems. Through this experience, students will learn how to work in a team with different cultural backgrounds, gain problem-solving skills by conducting real world projects, and improve communication and leadership skills in a multi-cultural environment.
Info sessions on this program are scheduled for January 15th, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm (192-240), and January 22, 11:10 am to 12:00 pm (192-221)
