What devices can I use Zoom on?

·  Laptop/computer (PC/Mac) -- recommended

·  Tablet (Apple iOS, Android)

·  Smartphone (Apple iOS, Android)

How it Works:

Employers will host a Zoom breakout room for 1 hour and 30 minutes. During this time students can log into an employer's Zoom breakout room and network in-real time with employers like at a face-to-face Career Fair. Each employer will have a specific date and time during which they will host their virtual 'booth' and a unique Zoom link associated with that session.

 How to Participate:

  1. All you need is a computer, tablet or cell phone, internet access, and a working audio for Zoom. Click the unique Zoom links for the employers you are interested in connecting with during the time indicated to join. Please note you will need to download the Zoom desktop app if you haven't already to connect with employers one-on-one in the breakout rooms.
  2. View a list of participating employers and the positions for which they are recruiting by exploring employer booths on the event page on MustangJOBS, powered by Handshake starting April 15, 2020.
  3. Make a list of organizations that you are interested in and research them. Visit their websites, learn their latest news, and prepare questions. Your preparation will become evident in your interaction with organization representatives, helping you to stand out. Be patient and anticipate crowds and lines; if an organization of interest has a long line, come back later.

  4. Registration is required and opens on April 15 and will end on April 27.

o    Find the LIVE Virtual Spring Career Fair event in MustangJOBS, powered by Handshake.

o    Click on "+ Join Event" in the top right of the page.

o    If there are multiple sessions available, you'll see each listed individually.

o    When you've registered successfully, the blue "+ Join Event" button will turn green with the text "Registered". You can click on the button to leave the fair or to hide your attendance.

o    We are putting together a candidate resume book for participating organizations before the event. Make sure your resume is "Public” if you want your resume available to employers.

§  You can see which documents are currently public by clicking Manage Documents on the right side of your profile page.

o    The Virtual 2020 Spring Career Fair Opt-in Resume Book features resumes from Cal Poly students and alumni who are seeking internship and full-time opportunities. Adding your resume to the book is a great way to enhance your job search and makes it easy for employers to contact (and hire!) you. This book is provided to all organizations attending (and those unable to attend that have paid for this service) the 2020 Virtual Spring Career Fair. To be a part of the 2020 Virtual Spring Career Fair Opt-in Resume Book, click on "Jobs," enter the keywords "2020 Virtual Spring Career Fair Opt-In Resume Book," and then click the "Apply Now" button.  Resumes may be submitted to the Resume Book beginning April 15, 2020 with a final submission deadline of May 13, 2020.
These employers will be able to search the resume book to look for students and alumni to fill their job openings. They may then contact you directly to discuss the position they have listed or to inquire as to whether you are interested in interviewing. To be a part of the Virtual 2020 Spring Career Fair Opt-in Resume Book, upload your resume by clicking the "Apply Now" button.
By submitting your resume to the opt-in resume book, you are authorizing Career Services to make the document available to employers participating in the Virtual 2020 Spring Career Fair that have paid for this service.
