Research Opportunities in Algae Biotech and Sustainable Management of Water, Nutrients, and Energy
The Water-Energy Sustainability Training Team (WESTT) is providing ENVE 405: Environmental Engineering Research (1-2 units). Apply by March 11th, 2022 at 11pm at this link. Freshmen through grad students from all engineering and science majors are welcome. ENVE 405 provides students the opportunity to do hands-on research on a variety of topics, such as algal and bacterial biotechnology, wastewater resource recovery, biofuels production, and anaerobic digestion.
The class is valid for tech elective credits in most departments, and gives students valuable experience to put on resumes. It also gives students a chance to try out grad school-level research while contributing to sustainability projects sponsored by the US Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission. If interested, contact Tryg Lundquist (tlundqui@calpoly.edu) or Anya Dickinson-Cove (ardickin@calpoly.edu).
