NACE Welding Seminar

May 16 & 17, 2019 | 12 - 2 pm and 3-5 pm | IME Yard Outside of Building 41

NACE will be offering a welding seminar sponsored by Phillips 66 this upcoming Thursday and Friday, May 16th and 17th from 12-2pm and 3-5pm both days. Cuesta College will be bringing their welding truck and trailer designed to teach students how to weld. The seminar will be taught by Mr. Mike Fontes and experienced students from the award-winning welding program at Cuesta College.

The welding trailer has a total of 8 welder stations. With that said in order to give more students an opportunity to participate we will be able to rotate students in, and have capped the available attendance at 12 students. We will be inviting MATEs along with other engineering majors, so if you are interested be sure to sign up quick!

As the tech conference is taking place on Thursday May 16th, we ask that students who will not be attending the conference sign up for Thursday. To save space on Friday for students who will be busy on Thursday.

Important! Cuesta College will be providing the following: helmet, gloves, jacket and eye protection.

If you wish to participate YOU MUST wear long pants and closed toed leather shoes. Most work boots or leather hiking boots will do.

You will also need to fill out a liability waiver which will be available at the event.

The seminar is also restricted to students 18 years and older.

In order to make sure that we are admitting only serious attendees and to minimize dropouts we request that you venmo @CPSLO-NACE $5 after signing up to reserve your spot.
