Cal Poly in Rome: Mechanics

Ciao Studenti!

How would you like to spend 3 months studying engineering in Rome? Dr Brian Self is leading a program that explores mechanics in the home of Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo, along with the amazing architecture, art, and food that Italy has to offer. You will take ME211 – Statics, ME212- Dynamics, CE 204 – Mechanics of Materials I, and Italian Language and Culture (C1, C2, or C5), earning 13 degree-applicable Cal Poly units. We also do excursions to Florence, Pisa, Venice, and Bologna. You can find details of the program from this year (excursions, timing, deadlines, costs) at; it will be updated for 2024 in the near future. Information sessions will be posted on the website – our first one will be on Oct 31st at 910 am (see below). You can also email Dr Self at for more information.  We will do the program in Fall of 2024, and depending on interest, we may also try to do a second cohort in either winter or spring of 2025.
