Materials Engineering Intern- Ceramic Quality Improvement

QuantumScape is looking for a summer intern in the field of inorganic chemistry, materials science or ceramic science. The candidate will work closely with research scientists to achieve yield improvements on solid state battery component manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will possess a range of skills including competence in experimental planning & execution, knowledge of material characterization techniques, understanding of statistical process control (SPC), and excellent data analysis capabilities. This role will provide experience in a fast paced start-up R&D environment and where experimental results can have direct and immediate impact. Experience and education Currently in Junior or Sophomore year of college in an engineering discipline, experience in physical chemistry or material science laboratory environments. Requirements: experience working with wet benches, chemicals, fume hoods. Experience in physical, chemical and/or optical materials characterization methods. Comfortable preparing scientific reports and delivering presentations to a technical audience. QuantumScape is a start-up located in San Jose, California and is working on a new technology for energy storage.
