Materials in the news Student's hand There are a number of things happening in the world of materials engineering. In addition to the traditional materials engineering subjects like metallurgy and ceramics, you'll get a chance to study the latest and greatest developments on the way to your engineering degree. For example, you could use microfabrication techniques to make a device in our MicroFab (pictured to the right). Below is a partial list of cutting edge technologies that you'll encounter in sophomore through senior courses.
