We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.

-Albert Einstein

A new era for engineering The rapidly changing global landscape has given new meaning to the role of the engineer. Engineers are no longer isolated geeks who crank through equations; engineers now need to be the visionary, creative inventors of a future where humanity's needs are met in a way that is socially just and preserves the natural resources for future generations. As David Orr states in his book Earth in Mind: On Education, Environment and the Human Prospect, "No generation has ever faced a more daunting agenda." Our program is designed not only to develop your technical competence, but to prepare you with the global perspectives, intellectual and interpersonal attributes to enable you to engineer transformations to sustainable ways of living on the planet.
