Weartech International has an opening for a graduating senior in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Weartech is a supplier of nickel and cobalt base alloys to the automotive, chemical and power generation industries.

The position would involve traveling as much as a week every one and a half months to established customers to improve our existing product lines. Locations include Japan, India, SE Asia and South America. No foreign language skills required but are also considered a plus. Duties when not on assignment traveling abroad would include daily foundry operations (producing charges, adjusting elemental compositions, and fixing other metallurgy related problems). All necessary training will be provided by the company.

Education/Experience

The position requires some knowledge of metallurgy, with a background in welding and mechanical behavior being a definite plus.

Working knowledge of welding and welding procedure qualifications is an advantage. Some working knowledge of the ASME Pressure Vessel Code and/or relevant NACE standards is preferred. Candidates will work in the Material Applications group and under the supervision of Senior Materials Engineers. B.S. or M.S. degree in Materials Science is required.
