Registration Reminders for Fall 2009

Your MATE courses come only once a year, so don't miss them. These are the courses that you should be taking:

Freshmen, make sure you take
MATE 110
CHEM 124
ENGL 124

Sophomores, make sure you take MATE 210 and MATE 215
You should also be taking:
MATH 241
PHYS 132
Area D1 General Education Elective (check here for approved courses)
Make sure that you are on track with the pre-reqs for future MATE courses!

Juniors, make sure you take both MATE 340 and MATE 360 together
You'll also need to take:
CHEM 305
STAT 312

Seniors, make sure you have MATE 481 and MATE 482 (Take the senior projects series during your last full year)
Your schedule might also contain (as MATE tech electives):
MATE 460 - Materials Selection in Mechanical Design
MATE 471 - Practical Electron Microscopy
MATE 504 - Research & Development in Materials
MATE/BMED 530 - Biomaterials
CHEM 444 - Polymers

Your schedule might also contain Technical Breadth Electives (200-400 level):
UNIV 391 - Appropriate Technology for the World's People: Development
UNIV 424 - Design of Museum Displays in Science, Engineering and Technology

MATE 4+1 students:
Sign up for the senior project series if you are a senior. Take MATE 482 if this is your first year in the 4+1. Also, take the courses for seniors in the lines above. If you are starting your second year of the 4+1 program, take any 400/500-level courses that you need and also sign up with your advisor for MATE 599 - Thesis (2 units).
