Registration Reminders for Fall 2008

Your MATE courses come only once a year, so don't miss them. These are the courses that you should be taking:

Freshmen, make sure you take
MATE110
MATH141
CHEM124
ENGL134
(If you have credit for ENGL 134, please wait until Winter quarter to take SCOM 102 and take a different GE course instead for the Fall.)

Sophomores, make sure you take MATE210 and MATE215
You should also be taking:
MATH241
PHYS133
Area D1 General Education Elective (check the Cal Poly website for approved courses)

Juniors, make sure you take MATE340 and MATE360 together
You'll also need to take:
CHEM305
Life Science Elective, GE Area B2: check the Cal Poly website for B2 Electives

Seniors, make sure you have MATE481 and MATE482
(Take the senior projects serires during your last full year)

Your schedule might also contain (as MATE tech electives):
MATE/BMED530-Biomaterials
MATE540-Tribology
MATE570-Advanced Materials

Your schedule might also contain Technical Breadth Electives (200-400 level):

General Education Elective (check the Cal Poly website for approved courses)

MATE 4+1 students, sign up for the senior project series if you are a senior
Take MATE482 if this is your first year in the 4+1. Also, take the courses for seniors in the lines above. If you are starting your second year of the 4+1 program, take any 400/500-level courses that you need and also sign up with your advisor for MATE599-Thesis (2 units).
