Our students have the opportunity to design and fabricate micro
devices. This lab, headed by Dr. Savage,
is now up and running. Its suite of fabrication equipment includes the sputtering
system pictured here.
We are fortunate to have a state-of-the-art scanning electron
microscope with several anaytical capabilities. This system, paid for
in part by a grant from the National Science Foundation, is somewhat
unique -- specimens can be imaged in a water vapor atmosphere.
